News Sequences

Above you can see a title sequence for BBC one news slot.
Throughout this starting sequence there are a number of objects which become transparent. They don't start off transparent but gradually for example the ovals become transparent in parts. The parts of the ovals that become transparent lead on to allow the viewers to see landmarks from cities and phallic symbols. The ovals also could stand as a symbol for clocks. having clocks on a news starting sequence says that the news is on time, up to date and is brought to you urgently. Numerous amounts of clocks are used and are often landmarks from cities . For example in this starting sequence uses white ovals with transparent rectangles to reveal the important landmarks which symbolize the news as an important thing to watch. The landmarks that appear in this starting sequence seem to be phallic symbols . The beaty fat paced music of this sequence suggests importance, urgency and that an announcement will be made. The fast beaty music matches with the rushing graphics like the ovals with transparent rectangles cut out and the landmarks which rush in and out and this shows again how quick and up to date with the delivery of the news. The mise-en-scene of this starting sequence doesn't cover everything a typical news sequence would include but dispute this fact it does include the majority of everything discussed.
