'What Remains' Comparison

For this task we have been given an episode of a BBC 1 program called 'What Remains'. The idea of the task was to read through the original script and watch the first episode and find three differences between the two. Below are the three changes I found and some images of the program itself.

Above are two scenes that have been cut right from the start of the script. I feel the reason why they cut these two scenes is because they weren't really needed and therefore they could just get rid of them when finally filming.

Above is a scene from the script. The whole scene has been kept but the line highlighted doesn't actually happen in the episode. They took this out because it may have been an inappropriate time for it to happen.
Above is the last change I found. Again the whole scene has been kept but the highlighted sentence was not said in the episode. I'm a bit unsure as to why they may have taken it out but it may be because they didn't really need it. I feel that it could have been used to add more detail but it was completely taken out.

  1. Good - you have identified that scripts have to be economical - unnecessary stuff gets deleted. However in your first example, although you state the scenes weren't needed, you don't explain WHY. Try to be more thorough with your explanations this year.
