The History Of Animation- Part 3

This section is about platforms of animation that exist in stop motion animation to broadcast and showcase it. Below are examples of each type.
TV Programme
The Magic Roundabout

Above is The Magic Roundabout original program. The animation used in this piece is stop motion and I feel the target audience is young children from the age of 5 to 12.

Paddington Bear

Above is an episode of Paddington Bear. The animation used in this piece is again stop motion and the target audience is a little older then The Magic Roundabout maybe hitting 9 to 14 year old's.
Films
The Corpse Bride

Above is the trailer for the Corpse Bride. The animation used in this piece is again stop motion and the target audience is about 10-16 year old's mostly the same as Paddington Bear.

ParaNorman

Above is the trailer for ParaNorman. The animation used in this piece is again stop motion and the target audience is about 8-13 year old's mostly the same as Paddington Bear.
Advertisements
Skittles Advert

Above is a YouTube advert for skittles. The animation used in this piece is again stop motion and the target audience is probably from about 5 to 50 years old.

Xbox Advert

Above is YouTube advert for the Xbox. The animation used in this piece is claymation and the target audience is the older teens from 12 onward.
Music Videos

We Have Band- You Came Out

Above is a music video from We Have Band with their hit You Came Out. The animation used in this piece is again stop motion and the target audience is people from the elder generation about 30 onward.
Grizzly Bear-Ready, Able

Above is another music video by Grizzly Bear with their song Ready, Able. The animation used in this piece is again stop motion and the target audience is about 18 onward.
Channel Idents
BBC 1 Christmas Ident

Above is a channel ident for BBC1. The animation used in this piece is again claymation and the target audience is about young children at Christmas from about 5 onward.

MTV Ident

Above is a channel ident for MTV. The animation used in this piece is again stop motion and the target audience is about is very broad but mostly covering 16 years and upwards
Stop Motion Animation is primarily made for children in my opinion but the audience is to broad to specify one type of person. I honestly don't think stop motion holds much hope for the future because the world is being taken over by computer graphics.

  1. Megan,

This is a good first draft, section two in particular is nicely detailed and explores the types of animation in addition to the names associated.

I have awarded a pass as section 3 is extremely brief. Make the following changes to get a merit or above:
    - add a reference list for all of the sources you have used
    - add quotes where necessary to back up your own ideas/findings
    - section 3 needs lots more detail; look at what type of animation has been used in the example you have chosen, who it is aimed at and also why it is animated (rather than 'live action' for example)
    - elaborate on the final paragraph and add specific details to back up some real views

Please also put all of the sections into one long post.

  2. Well done Megan - merit achieved (just) although you could still do with a reference list.
